How to Help Scared/Shy Cats
Place cloth covers or paper cubby covers on their condos/cage
Give beds to cats who seem unsure or could use a soft place to land (especially seniors, long stays, or cats who have had surgery, but NOT RTF cats or cats with diarrhea or who make a big mess
Give them boxes to hide in
Spray Feliway (spray on cloth and put near the cat)
Give catnip
Spend time with the cubby open, see if the cat is open to affection. Sometimes 10 minutes can make a huge breakthrough with a cat who is scared
When spending time with the cubby open, use your discretion! Err on the side of caution!
